JONATHAN STEINBERG, PRESIDENT Jonathan Steinberg is Director of Research and Analytics at EurekaFacts. As a member of the senior leadership team, he will help to influence the growth of the company and, together with his team, build and maintain a healthy research and analytics practice. He spent the last 18 years at Educational Testing Service, most recently as a Manager of Data Analysis & Computational Research in the Research & Development Division. Prior to that, he spent five years at Young & Rubicam Advertising in the Consumer Research department. He earned his B.A. in Statistics from the University of Rochester in 1999 and his M.A. in Statistics from Columbia University in 2003. At ETS, Jonathan contributed to research initiatives with the Praxis® program and foundational research on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). He helped develop and validate new basic skills and comprehension assessments in reading, as part of the Reading for Understanding grant, funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES). He was lead data analyst for work funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and with IES related to collaborative problem solving assessment. He served as manager of an internal research project data repository and coordinated the process for data requests made by external researchers. Jonathan has presented and contributed to many different articles and educational research and technical conference presentations.
Jonathan has served NERA in various capacities, including proposal reviewer, conference chair, presenter, and discussant, chair of the Communications Committee (2012-2014), then the Infrastructure Committee (2018-2020), then as one of the 2021 Conference Co-Chairs, and just recently as a Conference Ambassador. In his role as President-Elect, he chairs the Site Selection Committee and hopes to work to expand the footprint and mission of NERA to other constituencies. |
